This foundational mindfulness course led by Maddy explores how cultivating present moment awareness can reduce stress, improve focus, and build resilience. Students will learn mindfulness principles, develop their own practice, and apply these skills to daily life, enhancing mind-body awareness.
The course draws on Western neuroscience and psychology, as well as Vedic and Buddhist traditions, and examines the growing body of research demonstrating mindfulness's positive impact on physical and mental well-being.
Upon completion, students will be able to
Integrate mindfulness theory, practice, and research;
Establish a personal meditation practice; and
Explore the mind-body connection to cultivate presence, connection, openness, and curiosity.
