FAQs

  • Sound Healing has been around since ancient times. The Greeks, Egyptians, and Yogis knew this and have been harnessing the power of Sound for thousands of years. Sound is created from vibrations, which then travels through the air to create sound waves or frequencies. When frequencies enter our bodies (ie, via ear canal), these create electrical impulses in our brain & neural network, allowing us to hear sound or feel the vibrations.

Our bodies, each organ, and energetic centers (chakras) operate at a defined optimal frequency (measured in Hertz). Cells, the building blocks of our body, are made up of receptors - which are affected by internal and external electrical impulses. Our bodies function best when we are in a state of balance, vibrating at the frequency we are designed to be.

Sound Healing helps to reinstate a state of balance by producing different healing frequencies through musical instruments and human voice. Healing occurs via entraining or synchronising a person's own frequencies back to it's natural, optimal state.

Integral sound healing is very effective at triggering the relaxation response, which counters the many symptoms of chronic stress, including heart, endocrine and digestive disorders. Sound healing instruments can be applied both on-the-body and off-the-body, using a variety of easy-to-play instruments and voice. When instruments, such as tuning forks and singing bowls are played on the body, it is a form of local vibration therapy.

  • Sound Therapy is a curated healing session tailored to the specific healing requirements of a client. Sessions are held for each individual client (1-on-1) and completed over a series of sessions, thus having a more effective, deeper, and lasting healing. Sessions are conducted by having instruments placed ‘on/off’ the body, along necessary meridian points to induce restoration, relaxation, and mind-body-spirit coherence.

Sound Bath on the other hand, is where we play instruments ‘off’ the body and is conducted in a group setting. Sounds are produced via the human voice and healing instruments to induce relaxation and deep rest for the group, invoking a meditative state, self awareness - a journey of self-discovery. A sound bath is a WHOLE-body, restorative experience in which people in a group setting relax whilst seated or lying down on a yoga mat, & listen to resonant sounds.

Sound therapy and Sound bath aim to restore a sense of harmony, balancing your physical body, mind, and soul. Through rhythm and frequency of sound, our brainwaves get entrained from fight-or-flight mode, to deeper, calmer, meditative states of conciousness.

  • Benefits of Sound Healing include (not limited to):

    • Improved relaxation response: lower blood pressure, improved respiratory & heart rate

    • Increased physiological healing: lowers fatigue, tension, chronic aches & pain

    • Improved mental & emotional wellbeing: alleviates anxiety, insomnia, chronic stress, depression

    • Brainwave entrainment from fight-or-flight mode, to deeper, calmer, meditative, and more expansive states of conciousness

  • For most people there are no contraindications that would prevent you from benefiting from a sound bath or sound therapy treatments. However, there are several precautions to be aware of. Please ensure to review the following precautions outlined below:

    1. Those with sound-induced epilepsy should always consult their doctor to ensure they receive the best anti-epileptic medication and are in no danger of seizures caused by healing sounds vibrations.

    2. The following people should consult their doctor before the first use of sound healing/sound bath:

      • People with carotid stenosis (prior to application in the area of the carotid artery/larynx)

      • People with cardiac pacemakers, artificial heart valves, or cardiac arrhythmias

      • People with a stent

      • People with a shunt

      • People with a deep brain stimulation device (DBS)

      • Pregnant women (in first or 3rd trimester of pregnancy)

    3. Individuals suffering from serious mental health issues should always consult their doctor before receiving any form of sound healing/sound bath.

    4. Recently had surgery or any medical procedure eg. large bone fractures – wait 6 weeks.

    5. Intoxicated patients (not allowed strictly)

By going ahead and booking you are agreeing that a sound bath or sound healing session is safe for you and that you take responsibility for your own wellbeing.

  • The sound vibrations of the sound healing instruments penetrate deep into the tissue. This improves blood circulation and metabolism, regulates muscle tension and deeply stimulates the tissue. Moreover, regeneration and repair mechanisms are stimulated. Sound healing is both activating and relaxing – so it also has a refreshing effect.

Intrasound is the range of sound frequencies which we can hear. Sound healing instruments and our voice use a specific part of the intrasound range which has been found to have the optimum frequency to create the ideal resonance in human tissue.

When intrasound waves reach molecules, which make up the cells of human tissue, each molecule absorbs a small amount of energy and then passes the wave on to the next molecule. This ripple effect continues until all the waves’ energy has been absorbed. When molecules are hit by sound waves close to their inherent frequency they will oscillate or strongly 'resonate'. The many different molecules in human tissue have different inherent frequencies.

Sound vibration pulses are conducted through the connective tissue, blood, lymph and spinal fluids, cartilage, muscle tissue and bone with significant therapeutic consequences, particularly in the treatment of joints.

Sound healing instruments generate sound waves which create this resonance effect across a wide spectrum of body tissue. This makes Integral Sound Healing so unique and effective.

  • Our Guided meditation and mindfulness sessions are inclusive and accessible to all open minds across all races, religions, ages, genders, and experience, etc.

Meditation has a history that goes back thousands of years, and many meditative techniques began in Eastern traditions. The term “meditation” refers to a variety of practices that focus on mind and body integration and are used to calm the mind and enhance overall well-being. Some types of meditation involve maintaining mental focus on a particular sensation, such as breathing, a sound, a visual image, or a mantra, which is a repeated word or phrase. Other forms of meditation include the practice of mindfulness, which involves maintaining attention or awareness on the present moment without making judgments. • Why Meditate?

Based on experts from the Mayo Clinic (source), Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. Meditation helps one to remain balanced, centered, and have a lasting effect on creating inner peace.

Meditation help to create mental and emotional calmness and clarity, allowing us to have more capacity to process information in a calmer, more coherent, and more compassionate manner. Meditation also allows us to connect at a deeper level to our inner being (soul-level), creating a broader sense of awareness and conciousness , and allowing us to be more connected to the people and broader environment around us.

The emotional and physical benefits of meditation can include, but not limited to:

    • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations

    • Building skills to manage your stress

    • Increasing self-awareness

    • Focusing on the present

    • Reducing negative emotions

    • Increasing imagination and creativity

    • Increasing patience and tolerance

    • Lowering resting heart rate

    • Lowering resting blood pressure

    • Improving sleep quality

  • Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body's subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body's inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated.
